WHAT IS CHEMICAL EARTHING ELECTRODE

Chemical Earthing Electrode      Chemical earthing is an earthing in which we use chemical powder instead of salt and coal.  Chemical earthing is maintenance free earthing   In any ordinary earthing, salt and coal are placed on top of the electrode. When the chemical earthing, the chemical powder is placed over the electrode. Two types of powders are used in chemical earthing. One is Carbon powder and the other is Bentonite powder. Carbon powder is black in color while bentonite powder is brown in color. What is earthing?

Definition:

     The process of transferring the immediate discharge of the electrical energy directly to the earth by the help of the low resistance wire is known as the electrical earthing., Mostly, the galvanised iron is used for the earthing. The earthing provides the simple path to the leakage current.




 

     An earthing system is the circuitry which connects parts of the electric circuit with the ground. It is used for the safety of both equipment and humans.

·         It is used to keep the exposed conductive surfaces of devices at earth potential, and in the event of a fault it can save life by blowing a fuse.

·         It is used to provide a safe path to faulty or excessive current/voltage by directing it to the ground.

·         To protect electrical system from lightning strikes, by directing it through earthing system into ground.

 

Why do I need Earthing ?

     Unfortunately, our electrical ecosystem is not perfect. It is constantly attacked by high voltages, fault currents,surges, short circuits & lightning all of which can turn deadly. So, any structure which has electricity running through it needs earthing for the protection of property and life.
